One year ago today. What can I say? One of our best and most powerful talents made his journey. I felt like I lost a family member when I heard the news of his passing. It was one of those moments in time when everything stood still, that kinda numbing feeling that makes you feel like you are standing in a dream. If you have been on earth for the last 50 years you were some how some way effected by Michael’s presence. I grew up with Jackson 5 playing on the family’s stereo and later playing MIke and the Jackson’s on many of my dance floors. Michael was a staple, a family member, and inspiration to us all. Gary, Indiana is right down the street from Chicago. You can hear that soulful midwestern energy in J5′s music that carried Mike into his 50 yr run as a spiritual muse on this earth. Mike had something special and it was undeniable. My 7 year daughter who never got the chance to go to concerts like I did or got the chance to experience the 80′s pop phenomena Loves him, “Daddy his is my favorite singer, he makes me happy”. He carried a message and spirit that penetrates and gets into the soul of the people young and old.
